Sea Bears: an exhibit to calm seasonal frenzy
|
Offering help in preserving your sanity from the clamour of the holiday season is Italian-Canadian fine artist Francesco Gallé.
He transformed Aching Beauty with colourful and whimsical illustrations, creating a book of art. And now 19 Bloor Street West (Toronto) across from Holt Renfrew in Yorkville, the first time this space has been used into a gallery filled with wonder and imagination. Magnified with his latest, large canvas paintings of polar bears that capture the magical and effortless fluidness of these giants marginal lives, shimmering with meaning in isolation underwater.
Titled Sea Bears
Alongside a retrospective collection of choice works spanning the course of his career that reverberate the deepest chambers of his being, in the rest of the 4000 square foot space.
Until December 13, Gallé will be hosting this free event in the main foyer that will showcase the luminous exhibition, a homage to the bears’ latin name Ursus martitimus, which directly translates to “sea bears”.
Hours
Sunday––Thursday 11am––7pm
Friday––Saturday 11am––8pm
Those unavailable to visit in person can still explore Sea Bears at francescogalle.com, and revisit his interview for Aching Beauty at giuseppedecaria.com to get a inside look of his artistic mind.
A conscionable gift
A purchase from the Sea Bears exhibit will help support polar bears long term survival felt worst and first across the Arctic from the impacts of climate change, toxic pollution, and oil exploration.
1 percent of the proceeds will go to Polar Bears International, a registered charity in Canada whose purpose is to make sure that polar bears roam the sea ice for generations to come and improve conditions for people too. (Gallé is not affiliated in any manner with PBI).
Better together
Forward this invitation to your nearest and dearest while they prepare for the big day, so they can untangle from the string of Christmas lights, and project themselves into a sea of meaning as if it were love reflecting back.
